Zoning Board of Appeals

The Zoning Board of Appeals (ZBA) is a five member Board appointed by the Town Board. Member terms are for five years with one expiring each year. The ZBA is an appellate Board which can review any permit application denied by the Zoning Enforcement Officer, when requested. The ZBA also considers applications related to special use permits, area and use variances and interpretations. The ZBA may also be called upon by the Town Board to make recommendations with regard to issues before those Boards.

Meetings

Meetings are the 3rd Wednesday of the month at 7:00 pm.

ZBA meetings are open to the public. When a public hearing is held in regard to a certain project or application, persons attending are offered the opportunity to speak regarding the issue before the Board.

Legal notices, including Special Meeting notices, are published in the Watertown Daily Times newspaper.
